Privacy policy

This explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. We've tried to write it the way we'd explain it across the counter.

What we collect

When you contact us or sign up

Your name, phone number and email address, plus whatever you write in the message. You give us these — we don't buy them from anyone.

When you order

What you ordered and what you paid. For delivery, the address we're bringing it to. For mail order, the address we're shipping to.

Age verification

We check that you're 19+ before you can use this site, and our staff and drivers check photo ID in person. We look at it to confirm your age and hand it straight back — we don't photograph it, scan it, or write anything down from it.

When you visit this site

We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used — which pages people open, roughly where they are, what device they're on — and Google Ads, which lets us measure whether our advertising brought someone here. Both are Google products and both set cookies. Neither of them is told what you bought or who you are. Our website and customer-record system also logs the ordinary things any website logs: your IP address, your browser, and the pages you opened.

Why we collect it

• To take and fill your order, and to reach you about it
• To confirm you're old enough to buy cannabis, which the law requires of us
• To keep the sales and order records the law requires us to keep
• To send you offers and updates, but only if you asked us to
• To run loyalty points and referrals, and to show you your own points balance in your account

What we don't do

We don't sell your information. We don't rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone for their own marketing.

Who else sees it

Only the companies that help us run the shop, and only the part they need:

• Your bank, and ours. Paying happens in person at the counter, or by e-transfer. No card or bank details are typed into this website or stored by us — that information passes between you and the banks, and nobody else sees it.
• The shipping carrier you choose at checkout, for mail order. They get the name and address the parcel is going to, because they have to.
• The companies that run our website, our customer records and our till. Each one only handles the part it needs to do its job, is bound by contract to protect it, and none of them may use your information for their own purposes.

We may also have to share information where the law requires it — a court order, or a regulator exercising its authority over a licensed cannabis retailer.

Marketing messages

If you've signed up for our emails, you can stop them at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any message, or just call us. We'll still email you about an order you've actually placed — that isn't marketing. We don't send marketing text messages.

How long we keep it

Order and sales records: six years. Canadian tax law requires a business to keep its records for six years from the end of the tax year they relate to, and the federal excise rules that cover cannabis say the same thing. We can't delete those early even if you ask — that part isn't our decision.

Everything else is different. We keep your contact details for as long as you're a customer or on our mailing list. Ask us to remove them and we will, apart from anything caught by the six-year rule above.

Keeping it safe

The systems that hold your information are password protected and secured with two-factor authentication, so a password on its own isn't enough to get in. Only the people who work here have access. We don't sell or rent your information to anyone, and we don't keep more of it than we need.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, and ask us to delete it — though we may have to keep some records for the period the law sets. Ask by calling (519) 784-2611 or emailing [email protected], and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies

This site uses cookies to remember that you've confirmed your age, so you're not asked on every page, and cookies set by Google Analytics and Google Ads as described above. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; the age check will simply ask you again.

Children

This site is for adults 19 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 19. If you believe we have, call us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. It's worth checking back if it matters to you.
